To understand the changing attitudes towards Diwali, we asked two simple questions.

The first question was about who people spent this year's Diwali with. The second question was about two contrasting ideas, such as "Fireworks should be allowed as a tradition" versus "Fireworks should be banned," and we asked which perspective was closer to their views.

Environmental Awareness vs. Tradition

  • 59% support stopping firecrackers due to environmental concerns, while 42% prefer keeping them as a tradition.
  • 60% favor using LED lights for eco-consciousness, compared to 40% who prefer traditional oil lamps.
  • 75% support environmentally friendly celebrations, while 25% favor preserving traditional methods.

Gift-Giving Preferences

  • 75% prefer simple, practical gifts, while 26% opt for lavish ones.
  • 71% want gift exchanges to continue as a meaningful tradition, compared to 29% who would stop them.

Celebration Focus

  • 55% prioritize bonding with family and friends, while 46% focus on religious significance.
  • 76% are excited about the festive atmosphere, while 25% are mainly excited about shopping and gift exchanges
